ELHAE Makes a Beautiful Hip-Hop Love Song with Some Help from Michael Jackson (Audio)

Atlanta Hip-Hop artist ELHAE (pronounced LA and an acronym for Every Life Has an Ending) released an EP titled Aura in February, that is steeped in melody and soul. His music features thoughtful lyrics and music anchored in lush, dark chords that will draw comparisons to Drake, The Weeknd, Childish Gambino and others. However, a closer listen reveals influences from artists like Michael Jackson, Usher and Jodeci…who also shaped the sounds of all the other aforementioned artists, hence the similarities.

Aura is a great listen from front to back, a rarity these days, but “Halfway Love” is a nice entry into the project. The chopped and screwed Michael Jackson vocal for the chorus is an instant hook. If you like what you hear, take a listen to the entire project below.
