Black Star Announce Tour Dates…Half A World Away From Brooklyn.

More than 15 years removed from their self-titled album, Black Star is making moves. Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey (f/k/a Mos Def) have done spot appearances in the last three years. However, the former Rawkus Records duo has announced a four concert tour…in Australia. That’s a long way from Brooklyn, New York.

Brooklyn Vegan reported the dates, which occur in the midst of Talib’s solo global tour:

OCT 22 2015 BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA EATONS HILL
OCT 24 2015 SYDNEY , AUSTRALIA THE DOMAIN
OCT 25 2015 MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA MYER MUSIC BOWL
OCT 26 2015 AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND WESTERN SPRINGS STADIUM

In 2011, Black Star released their first single in more than a decade in “Fix Up.” The longtime collaborators have not announced plans of a formal reunion. Earlier this week, Kweli revealed plans for an upcoming Indie 500 compilation release with Slug, Brother Ali, Rapsody, Planet Asia, Pharoahe Monch, and others.

Should Heads expect the Black Star flag to be waiving once more?
