Souls Of Mischief’s “93 ’til Infinity” remains a pinnacle for the veteran Oakland, California quartet. From the Jive/Zomba Records album of the same name, the introductory work from the Hieroglyphics members would see their strongest chart traction for album and single, in showing the rest of the world how they just chill.

Group member A-Plus produced the classic single, built largely around Billy Cobham’s “Heather.” The warm notes and gliding effects of the Jazz-inspired beat played nicely against S.O.M.’s laid back, elevated attitudes. From the same streets as Too Short and M.C. Hammer, these free spirits enjoyed a different way of life, built around women, weed, and waxing ill rhymes.

Twenty-three years later, DJs Jimmy Green and Step One emerge with a novel concept, inspired by Hiero extended family member Ice Cube (by way of Del), and his “Jackin’ For Beats.” The crew remixes “93 ’til Infinity” with A-Plus’ beat, and his rhymes, as well as those by Tajai, Opio, and Phesto. However, as the song builds, they mix those lyrics with 15 classic Hip-Hop instrumentals, all from 1993. The rundown of those beats is:
