J. Cole Has An Album Coming… In Less Than 10 Days

UPDATE: Hours after the report (December 1) below, the pre-order links to J. Cole’s 4 Your Eyez Only have been removed. According to Billboard, a rep for Apple (who posted the title and artwork) declined to comment. J. Cole and reps have yet to release a statement.

When J. Cole surprises fans, the music tends to be exceptional. Such was the case with 2014 Forest Hills Drive two years ago. Two years to the day after that multi-platinum, #1 charting LP, Cole will return with what appears to be another sneak attack album.

4 Your Eyez Only is available for pre-order. To be released December 9 through Dreamville Records (under license from Jay Z’s Roc Nation), this is a 10-track effort. The titles to the songs have not been released. However, a back-facing Cole appears to be on the LP’s cover.

Thus far, 2016 has been relatively quiet for the North Carolina MC/producer. He appeared on “Night Job,” a track from Bas’ Too High To Riot album, also released on Dreamville. Cole also led an interlude on DJ Khaled’s Major Key effort. In January, Jermaine also released a concert album, Forest Hills Drive: Live From Fayetteville, NC, which cracked the Top 200.

All three of Cole’s previous albums have reached #1, and achieved platinum status with the RIAA. His last effort topped this feat without any features, and minimal promotion. As details emerge, Heads will soon see if he can do it again.
