Yasiin Bey Has Announced a New Album & It’s Arriving Really Soon

In just over one week, Yasiin Bey will be releasing December 99th, a new collaborative album with producer Ferrari Sheppard. Arriving December 9, it will mark the first new album from the Brooklyn, New York MC since 2009’s The Ecstatic, which was released under his former moniker, Mos Def. The announcement of the LP comes just days after Yasiin shared news of what he says will be the final American performances of his career – news which arrived the same day he was granted permission by South Africa to leave the country, where he’s been detained for much of the year.

His reported retirement from Hip-Hop altogether has left fans justifiably upset, but today’s (November 28) announcement will, at the very least, give Heads something to look forward to. In addition to the forthcoming album’s title and release date, Yasiin also shared the project’s tracklist (below) and its corresponding artwork.
