Bow Wow Shifts Into Mixtape Mode & Barks With Bite (Video)

Over the years, Bow Wow has had a number of facets to his career. Releasing his first album in 2000, as Lil Bow Wow, under the tutelage of Jermaine Dupri, the artist was only 13 when he became a household name. Within two years, he had added the title of actor to his bio, starring in films such as Like Mike. Over the years, he grew into a man with a mastery of social media, a hosting gig on 106 & Park (the show that landed him the nickname “Mr. 106”), and a role on CSI: Cyber. Through it all, however, the music has remained a fixture.

Now, the MC who often uses his government name of Shad Moss, is preparing to release the sixth installment of his Greenlight mixtape series and he’s dropped a preview of what to expect. Simply titled “Greenlight Preview,” the song finds Bow rapping as hard as he has in years. He flexes about his lifestyle, chasing Emmys and still maintaining a presence on his old network, BET, through his movies. The video for the sneak peek is straight forward, in its focus on the bars. Shot in black and white, Moss is suited up, rapping while looking directly into the camera, and he gets busy.

If the preview is any indication of what’s to come, it’s clear Bow is back with bark and bite.
