You may remember Tristan Wilds from The Wire as Big Mike (or from 90210). He’s now making a transition to music and has a serious camp behind him, including all-star producer Salaam Remi (Nas, The Fugees, Amy Winehouse, to name a few…). I attended a listening session last night that included a DJ set by Pete Rock and an appearance by Wilds, himself, who is recording under the name Mack. Mack even sang a few songs live to prove he is indeed the man behind the voice. Be on the lookout his project, New York: A Love Story, which drops in the next few weeks and features tracks from DJ Premier, Remi and other hip-hop luminaries, as well as verses from Method Man and Raekwon.
