Brooklyn’s Astro Kid (a/k/a Astro, a/k/a The Astronomical Kid) keeps the output coming with “Crazy.” This is a simple beat with a rapper’s rap to go with it. Astro flexes his varying flows over a drum arrangement provided by BMC. For all the throwback fashion styles and rappers liberally grabbing ’90s beats, this song truly mimics the chorus-style of yesteryear, and I think it works nicely. This song feels inspired by the Beastie Boys and Boogie Down Productions at once, without sounding gimmicky or stylized. Astro’s been doing his thing for years now, and that polish is starting to really glisten this season. You really must be crazy if you like the pure hip-hop sound and are overlooking this man.
