Remembering George Duke: A Tribute Playlist (Audio)

Hi. We recently created AFH TV, Ambrosia For Heads’ streaming video service, because we believe real Hip-Hop deserves its own dedicated TV home. But, there are doubters, so, we need your help. If you have enjoyed anything on AFH over the last 7 years, we are asking you to subscribe to AFH TV. It is only $1.99/month or $12/year, and already features some amazing content, but the best is yet to come. Thank you for all of your support.

Rest in peace to George Duke. The multi-talented jazz musician died at the age of 67 yesterday, after a battle with Leukemia. Duke’s music was a landmark presence in hip-hop, having been sampled by artists like A Tribe Called Quest, Ice Cube, Common, Slum Village, Spice 1, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Black Hippy and many more. He is gone but not forgotten. Here’s a playlist of some of our favorite hip-hop songs that sampled Duke’s work. Related: Celebrating the music of Roy Ayers.
