The Show (Video)

Last but not least, as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the weekend Hip-Hop was born, we take a look at the role of the MC. Without a doubt, the rap game is the predominant force in Hip-Hop culture. It has gone from the chanting simple couplets to keep the crowd going while the DJ rocked the block to a complex art form that is the crux of a multi-billion dollar industry. Few documentaries have featured a more prominent list of MCs than The Show. The film was produced by Russell Simmons, the legendary founder of Def Jam, and features a who’s who of your favorite rapper’s favorite rappers, including Biggie, Dr. Dre, Kurtis Blow, Diddy, Snoop, Warren G, LL Cool J, Craig Mack, Afrika Bambaataa, Melle Mel, Slick Rick, Run-D.M.C., Tha Dogg Pound, Whodini, Naughty By Nature, Wu-Tang Clan and more.
