There are certain projects that have the power to embody more than just music, whether it be a place in time or an overall energy.  With Evolutionary Minded: Furthering the Legacy of Gil Scott-Heron, it seems that Kentyah has accomplished just exactly that. The video below plays not only as a preview to the album, but a back story about the importance of Gil Scott-Heron. Chuck D of Public Enemy has one of the most prolific quotes, stating “You can go into Ginsberg and and the Beat Poets and Dylan, but Gill Scott-Heron is the manifestation of the modern world. He and the Last Poets set the stage for everyone else.” The 12 minute clip, which also features an appearance from Dead Prez, really takes you on a musical as well as political journey, and sets the stage beautifully for the 18-track project which is now available for purchase.
