Not all freestyles are crisp and buttery. In the TV era, many MCs kept unheard (and many times heard) writtens memorized for on-the-spot beckons for free’s, whether Big Tigger or Sway & King Tech. Tony Touch has long been a DJ demanding dope content from MCs. With Top Dawg Entertainment’s Isaiah Rashad swinging through the Shade 45 studios, Toca puts him on the spot. Admittedly, it’s not what Rashad says, but how he says it, and an interesting entry in a developing catalog. He gets his groove mid-way through and really showcases.

Isaiah is one of the few artists in Hip-Hop today without an extensive catalog. He’s an artist we’re eager to hear from at every turn, and this is something that helps that chronology.
