Snoop Dogg’s amazing GGN series continues with whom he calls the “Godfather of Hip-Hop,” Def Jam Records co-founder Russell “Uncle Rush” Simmons. Anybody who has read Rush’s Life & Def knows that Simmons has lived an interesting life. From managing his brother’s group, Run-DMC, through founding Hip-Hop’s most enduring mainstream label, to creating a platform for breakthrough comedians throughout the ’90s and ’00s, and also Phat Farm, Russ has done it.

Snoop and Russell chop it up about many of these things in a candid, “gotcha open” discussion.

Some highlights:

– Russell explains his secret to looking young.
– Russell recalls LL Cool J’s “I Need A Beat” after The Beastie Boys’ Ad-Rock bought a tape from Farmers Boulevard’s finest.
– Russell talks possible future of Def Comedy Jam.
– Oh yeah, some lovely weather reporting too, as always.
