Lorde’s single Royals was one of the biggest records of 2013. The song takes aim at the the rampant materialism prevalent in pop culture, particularly Hip-Hop (though the artist is a fan of the music), and says people are over it. Ironically, Rick Ross and Wale have remixed the song and their lyrical content is comprised of much of the fare being satirized in the original…Now THAT’s rich.
