Heads ought to know: this Animal Serum album released by Prince Po & Oh No is one of the most impressive listens as we start to really settle into 2014. Released on Brooklyn’s Nature Sounds Records (Havoc, Durag Dynasty, Blu, Pete Rock, etc.), the LP features the likes of O.C., Large Professor, Roc C, and more in a stellar blend of hard, ’90s-minded lyrics and thumping beats, from one half of Gangrene.

What’s more, it’s been some years since Po had the kind of production value in his videos as he does in “Machine Rage.” The joint has that anger and angst that made Organized Konfusion so unique and multi-faceted (“Hate” and “Stress”), and Oh No lays down a really perfect beat to execute the message. Don’t sleep…
