NYC’s Hot 97 is a Hip-Hop institution, having played a key role in launching the careers of Biggie, Jay Z, Kanye West and just about anyone else who’s come up through the ranks over the last 20 years. They’ve landed a new reality series and it’s quite entertaining. Rather than exploiting drama, it plays like a tongue-in-cheek insider satire on the workings of the TV and music industry. Episode 1 introduces the station’s key players (Ebro, Angie Martinez, Cipha Sounds, Peter Rosenberg and Funkmaster Flex) and features guest appearances from Kanye West, Macklemore and more.
