Kanye West Is Recording, But Who Is Involved & What Does It Sound Like?
All Heads know right now is that Kanye West is recording his seventh solo album, and it’s allegedly going down in Florence, Italy. Early on, reports stated that Q-Tip and Rick Rubin were sitting in the executive producer’s chairs, following Rubin’s role in Yeezus, and G.O.O.D. Music inking The Abstract to a solo deal. However, Billboard has been paying close attention.
The magazine today (May 22) published a rundown of all the facts, as they know them, leading up to yet-titled LP. Players reportedly include French Montana, DJ Mustard, Young Thug, Tyga, and usual production role-player S-1 (of Strange Fruit Project).
The quotes surrounding the album, from ‘Ye, Tip, and others are compiled, along with an Instragram video believed to be from Da Interz’ session with Mr. West.
Since publishing the article, Billboard updated, “A source says that as of two-weeks ago, there’s 12 songs on the album. Out of six heard, it’s ‘mostly a mixture of soul samples and tamed ‘Yeezus’-esque darkness… nothing abrasive.'”
