Game Calls Out XXL Freshmen Covers, Soft Lyrics & States What Class He’s In (Audio)

For the last decade, few artists are as outspoken as The Game. Between the storied beefs, DVD antics, the public squabbles, and mic-checking (and some subsequent truces with) everybody along the way from Joe Budden to Lil B to Ras Kass to Jay Z to Suge Knight, it’s been an interesting ride to say the least…

With his name still in headlines (for legal and marital reasons lately), the Compton veteran demands that Heads pay greater attention to his music and legacy within Hip-Hop. That’s where “Bigger Than Me” comes in, as the onetime protege of JT Tha Bigga Figga, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent asks the question of “who?” Reminding folks that he came in with Young Jeezy and Kanye West in the mid-2000s, Jayceon criticizes a class of XXL Freshmen (it’s a bit unclear which one), he calls out soft lyrics, and certain artists who rely on guest star-power for their hooks (it appears that “Drake” is the name covered up in this version, but what do y’all think?). Referring to himself (as he’s done before) as “The Black Marshall Mathers,” the Black Wall Street CEO chronicles his exodus from Dr. Dre and Aftermath Entertainment and current merger with Cash Money/Young Money’s YMCMB. He also has some things to say about his days with G-Unit, in the wake of this month’s on-stage reunion with the lineup after he was ousted. Along the way, Game drops an f-bomb and seemingly makes light of Frank Ocean’s sexual preferences. Like past jaw-droppers “My Bitch” and the “Bars” series, this is truly something that beckons multiple rewinds to absorb…

After saying all this, where do you think Game’s place in Hip-Hop right now should be? Who do you think he’s speaking to?
