Still without an album in stores, The Beard Gang continues to demand awareness. The Philadelphia collective features gold and platinum-selling artists Malik B and Freeway, as well as self-proclaimed leader, Jakk Frost, and relative newcomer, Tana Da Beast.

With allusions to the common facial trait of Philly’s Sunni Muslim community, this North, South, and West Philly connection is also about restoring a certain grit to Hip-Hop. Traveling in large packs, Jakk and The Beards invaded the recent Roots Picnic for a behind-the-scenes-style video featuring some major cameos from across the Rap landscape. Included are Ed Lover, Kurupt, Black Thought, Craig G, Action Bronson, and more.

Having made DJ Premier’s favorite song of 2013, Frost’s cold reign continues with this precise riding of the beat, and cool cockiness. Tana also really shows out here, alongside some star-power in “Beards R Us.”
