Gary Gray (Friday, Set it Off), and it’s been confirmed on numerous occasions, including by Dr. Dre. New details have surfaced, including cast names and a release date, that make the film all the more real. Today, Dr. Dre tweeted the first official photo from the film, which is aptly titled “Straight Outta Compton.” The role of Ice Cube will be played by his son, O’Shea Jackson, Jr. Eazy-E will be portrayed by Jason Mitchell. And, Corey Hawkins (Iron Man 3), will be stepping into the shoes of Dr. Dre. The film will be produced by Matt Alvarez and Tomica Woods-Wright (Eazy’s widow) and will hit theaters on 8/14/15.
