Leave it to Aaron McGruder to make his return to TV a project that makes The Boondocks look like a kiddie show. The creator of one of the most controversial comics ever is one-upping himself with his latest foray, Black Jesus. Just like it sounds, the series will focus on the 2nd coming but in ways that are sure to drop jaws, flare tempers and, above all, provoke thought. It finds Jesus living in present day Compton, CA on a daily mission to spread love and kindness throughout the neighborhood with the help of his small but loyal group of downtrodden followers. The show stars Gerald ‘Slink’ Johnson, Charlie Murphy, John Witherspoon and more. Check out the trailer.
