Twenty-year Roots affiliate and collaborator Dice Raw utilizes vintage footage of numerous Civil Rights events from years past to capture the essence of his latest single, “Animal.” The harsh visuals and vaudeville vocals cast a grim reflection on today’s prison system and other institutions that lead to systemic inequities.

The timeless sounds of the single are featured on Raw’s album, Jimmy’s Back: The New Jim Crow.
