Has Lil Boosie Made His Realest Song To Date, Over A B-Real Beat? (Video)

Lil Boosie is an artist who has a strong core fan-base, but hasn’t always extended much beyond those who’ve been with him since the beginning. For fans of lyrics and honest songwriting, Trill Fam (which includes Boosie Bad Azz, Webbie, Foxx, Lil Trill, and the deceased Lil Phat) aren’t always the most complex. Pimp C and Bun B thought so though, making Boosie an early artist on Trill Ent. More recently, since being released from prison in March, Boosie’s appeal has widened, and he appears to be using the moment in the awaiting spotlight wisely.

“Crazy,” which Heads may be surprised to learn is produced by Cypress Hill’s B-Real (whom Boosie’s worked with before), finds the nasal delivery of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper on a beat by the nasal Los Angeles producer. Boosie is keenly aware of his detractors and responds to their critiques honestly but unapologetically. He acknowledges his mistakes but refuses to let them define him. Taking a page from 2Pac’s famed return from jail, and T.I.’s own Paper Trail trip in, this is introspective Hip-Hop.

The video is straightforward, and shows Heads Boosie’s whole wide world:
