Hip-Hop is stepping up with its voice and power. Lupe Fiasco joins fellow Chicago Hip-Hop superstar Common and songstress Jennifer Hudson for “Remission.”

In conjunction with Stand Up 2 Cancer, the 3 have come together for a fundraising song. With The Notorious B.I.G and the late Poetic (“Grym Reaper” of Gravediggaz) having mentioned songs from the perspectives of loved ones, and oneself dealing with cancer, respectively, this is not the first time Hip-Hop has addressed the menacing disease.

Cleverly, Lu’, Comm’, and Jenn make the song’s lyrics and mood applicable to many, but specific as well, reminding Heads what they stand for.
