Chris Rock stopped by the Sway in the Morning show to promote his film Top Five (in theaters on December 12th). Ever insightful, he gave some thoughtful commentary on Eric Garner and why there might be less activism in Hip-Hop now as compared to in the 80’s and 90’s. Rock also spoke on his top Hip-Hop artists, opining that The Notorious B.I.G. did not have a large enough body of work to be a top five MC and that Jay Z is in a class of his own. Near the end of the interview, Rock is asked to name his top five comedians from a pool of Richard Pryor, Dave Chappelle, Martin Lawrence, Kevin Hart, Damon Wayans, Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Harvey, Chris Tucker, Mo’Nique and Jamie Foxx. He also says that the only (living) comedian who puts fear in his heart on stage is Dave Chappelle. Check out the video.
