Random New Yorkers Recite Raunchy Sean Price Lyrics for Valentine’s Day (Video)

It’s been 10 years since Heltah Skeltah’s Ruck redefined himself with Monkey Barz. The Brownsville, Brooklyn MC went for broke (quite literally, as he tells it), and made a low-budget album that Heads loved. With production by 9th Wonder, Khrysis, “8-Off” Agallah, and others Monkey Barz may have missed the charts, but it set the table for Sean P to become an independent star in the decade that followed.

The 9th-produced single “Heartburn” was a fan favorite off the album. Veiled as a love song, the verses celebrate the more intimate moments in a relationship with no shame in its images. Additionally, the Boot Camp Clik O.G. used this opportunity to point out that his wife, while the love is his life, isn’t a culinary wiz.

The legendary “Duck Down Man,” mascot to Sean’s label for more than 20 years, took to the streets on New York City for Valentine’s Day weekend. In a Jay Leno-style bit, he gets innocent bystanders to recite the raunch, wit, and “punch through school-buses” candor that is Sean Price:

If you like Dru Ha & Buckshot’s label’s take on love, they put together the ill $9 Valentine’s Day gift, Heartburn: A Collection of Hip-Hop Love Songs (Sort of), on iTunes.
