Saturday Night Live is celebrating its 40th anniversary tonight (2/15) with an all-star special involving several of its alumni and guests from the last several decades. One of the most highly-anticipated moments will be the return of Eddie Murphy, who has not been on the SNL stage since he left over 30 years ago.

ET has opened up their archives of content and released a video of a then 21-year old Eddie Murphy discussing his experiences on SNL and how he derived inspiration for his characters and sketches. Check out the video.
