Rapper Big Pooh stopped by the Sway in the Morning show to promote his stellar Words Paint Pictures joint project with Apollo Brown. Pooh spoke about how he, Phonte and 9th Wonder met before forming Little Brother, as well as the current status of their relationship. He also spoke generally about the factors that cause groups to break up over time.

As the conversation shifted to Words Paint Pictures, the North Carolina MC broke down the lyrics to his new song “Augmentation,” explaining that he does not focus on sales figures when making his music. Pooh spoke on the title of the project, explaining that the it was emblematic of the fact that there are more stories on Words Paint Pictures than some of his past projects. He also touched on the business of music, discussing the economics of both sample clearing and Spotify payments to artists.

RBP finishes off the interview with a quick but potent freestyle over a soulful instrumental. Check out both videos below.
