Agallah Gets A Career Highlight With A Fiery Big Daddy Kane (Audio)
While the EPMD family tree can quickly point to Redman, Das-EFX, DJ Scratch and Keith Murray as successful proteges, there are plenty more. As K-Solo was a verbal varsity “letterman,” Craig Mack blossomed under the fold. Later on, in the ’90s, “8-Off The Assassin” l/k/a “Agallah” was within the last wave of the lesser-defined Hit Squad/Def Squad unit, as heard on 1999’s Out Of Business, following his own EastWest deal.
By the 2000s, Agallah transitioned from underground MC/producer to a Diplomats affiliate, thanks to his role in Purple City. After appearances on albums by Alchemist, Sean Price, and Kool Keith, Agallah teams with Big Daddy Kane for “Get Your Shit Together.”
Raw in title and sound, this is the Brooklyn, New York multi-talent throwing verbal hay-makers at the mic, after the cool, calm and collected BK legend kicks cocky bars with finesse. 8-Off is a testament to perseverance while B.D.K. shows that some skills never go dull.
This hails from Agalito’s Way (May 5).
