J. Cole Unleashes a New Visual About Young Love…Literally (Video)
Last year’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive album fully-delivered on the promise J. Cole has shown since the days of his mixtape, The Warm Up. That project put Cole on the map of Heads all over the world, including that of Jay Z. After a couple of major label releases that were not as well received, 2014 Forest Hills Drive showcased all aspects of Cole as an MC–substantive lyrics, witty punchlines and great storytelling.
One such story comes in the form of “Wet Dreamz,” Jermaine’s song about a young couple who are contemplating having sex for the first time. Told from the young man’s perspective, it chronicles his self-doubts and fears about disappointing his mate. It’s a real look at adolescence with no trace of being corny.
For the visual, Cole takes a tongue in cheek approach. He stays true to the storyline of the song, but uses dogs in place of humans. The result is comedic and also allows for fully safe viewing at work…Check it out.
