Last week, was the 20th anniversary of the release of the film Friday. Starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker, the movie has become a cult classic both because of the universal themes it addressed and the authentic feeling of the hilarious dialogue. However, like most things in life, greatness often looks deceptively simple.

In celebration of the film, Complex has unearthed never before released rehearsal footage showing Ice Cube, Chris Tucker, Tiny “Zeus” Lister, Jr. (Deebo) and others practicing classic scenes from the film. What’s even more fascinating than the surreal performances in a warehouse amongst unbridled laughter, is the earnestness with which the participants attack their roles. It’s a true testament to the saying “you don’t play like you practice…you practice like you play. Check out the footage.
