Rapsody Revamps Beauty And The Beast With 3 New Songs. Check Out This One (Audio)

Through the #1 album in the country for two weeks straight, Rapsody is reaching audiences the Raleigh, North Carolina MC previously has not. Hearing “Complexion” on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly, listeners inevitably want to know more. So last year, when Rapsody released Beauty And The Beast, an EP companion to her DJ Drama-hosted mixtape, some may have missed it.

Jamla and Rapsody re-released the 2014 acclaimed independent work to iTunes in a new, deluxe edition. With it came three new songs. Included in that fresh take is “Don’t Need It,” featuring onetime DJ Jazzy Jeff protege, Merna (p/k/a Ayah). The song oozes with Rapsody’s confidence, as she stresses the extra things in life she could do without.
