In four decades, DJ Premier has been remixing tracks. Whether Showbiz & A.G.’s “Next Level,” Fat Joe’s “Success,” or Craig David’s “7 Days,” some of those very mixes have arguably eclipsed their originals.

That said, it’s a big deal to remix Premier’s handiwork, and few producers would dare. Marco Polo, a friend/associate of Preemo’s did just that. The Canadian-born producer (who has released albums on Rawkus Records and Duck Down Music) opted to take PRhyme single “Courtesy,” and courteously flip it his own way. The results are staggering, as Marco gives Royce Da 5’9″‘s words extra emphasis with slow and hard-hitting percussion and keys.
