Pharrell May Have Another One Courtesy Of The Ever-Funky OverDoz (Audio)

OverDoz. is a name to write down right now. The Los Angeles, California quartet of Creamie, Kent Jamz, Joon, and P have worked with Terrace Martin, A$AP Ferg, and now Pharrell. Whether the wavy viral vibes of “Lauren London” or the oddball didactic rapping of “Killer Tofu,” the crew shows plenty of range. Inked with RCA Records, the youthful group captures the vibes of contemporary Southern California, complete with the strong influence to early ’90s Gangsta Rap.

“Last Kiss” feels like something out of the Suga Free and DJ Quik wheelhouse. The raps are catchy, raunchy, and incredibly “fonky.” The rap seamlessly blends with the singing, with Pharrell’s drum kit leading the way. This sounds like Skateboard P gave OverDoz his absolute best, in a song that most certainly has legs.

Pharrell was instrumental in bringing artists to the mainstream, ranging from N.O.R.E. to Robin Thicke. Can OverDoz inject themselves to radio?
