Royce Da 5’9″, O.C., REKS & Droog Make Some Revolutionary Boom Bap (Audio)

Hi. We recently created AFH TV, Ambrosia For Heads’ streaming video service, because we believe real Hip-Hop deserves its own dedicated TV home, but we need your help to make it great. Please subscribe to AFH TV. It is only $1.99/month or $12/year, and already features some amazing content, but the best is yet to come. Thank you for all of your support.

New Jersey veteran K-Def has remixed much of DJ EFN’s Another Time album. This go-round, the onetime Marley Marl protege invites listeners to revisit “Revolutionary Ride Music,” which features verses from Your Old Droog, Royce Da 5’9″, REKS, and O.C. In his remix, The Garden State producer takes a more somber approach to the MC-advocated revolution. Though there are some similarities to the original Buckwild production, it is in the contrasting elements where K-Def’s unique style rings true. While Buck’s beat is a militia war-cry, K’s instrumental could be a rally-call for a band of warriors, out to stomp opponents into the mud. Either way, it’s all-out combat.

One thing that doesn’t change is each rapper’s incredible verse. Peep the remix to “Revolutionary Ride Music” and march along, K-Def style:
