Watch Crazy Hood’s Award-Winning Short Film, Avaricious: The Story Of Will (Premiere)

Miami, Florida-based Crazy Hood Productions is making a strong foray into film, through the Crazy Hood Film Academy. The collective including DJ EFN and Michael Garcia has released Avaricious: The Story Of Will. The work recently won “Best Short” at Key West Film Festival.

Premiering on Ambrosia For Heads, the short film is written, produced, and directed by Michael Garcia, with Executive Production by DJ EFN (who just released the Another Time album). The cast includes Benhur “Sito” Barrera, Mery Jo Cortada, and Bertrand Boyd, II. Producers include Jorge “Jokes” Yanes, Greg Clark, Chris Thomas, Michael Zoyes.

Previously, Michael Garcia released the Life Unscripted and Anti-Social albums.

As the film synopsis reveals: “Will’s life turns upside down when he learns of his grandmother’s illness. Faced with no job or foreseeable future he decides an act of desperation is the only shot he has at turning it all around. When his best friend Dro offers him an opportunity at quick money he learns quickly that the world is a very unforgiving place.

This is Crazy Hood Film Academy’s first short film, under Crazy Hood Productions. The production company previously released the documentary, Coming Home, which is currently airing on REVOLT. Coming Home: Haiti will premiere on REVOLT in June.
