Method Man is Releasing His First Solo Album in 9 Years This Summer (Video)

Why should Ghostface Killah and Raekwon have all the fun? After watching his Wu-brethren release solo albums over the last 12 months, Method Man is getting in on the action and releasing his first solo LP since 2006’s 4:21… The Day After. While Meth has stayed active over the years, putting out albums with Wu-Tang Clan, Redman and Ghost & Rae, and making countless guest appearances, it’s been nearly a decade since he was in sole control of his sonics.

That’s all about to change, as today he released a short video trailer for a new album titled The Meth Lab, that is slated to hit stores on August 21, on Tommy Boy Entertainment. The video preview features an animation of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, from iconic series Breaking Bad, getting jacked for their mobile methamphetamine lab by Meth and his crew. It also contains a snippet of the title track and first single, which features Streetlife, and will be released tomorrow (6/2). Stay tuned for more details.
