Too often in life, we celebrate those who have passed away after it’s too late for them to hear the praises. Capone, Noreaga and Tragedy Khadafi seek to rectify that in the latest release from C-N-N’s upcoming Lessons album.

On “U.M.A.R.” (Ur Man’s All Real), the three MCs take time to salute men in their lives who have made a difference while they’re able to appreciate the acknowledgements. The song is a significant departure from the more aggressive material typically associated with the group. The pensive, string-based track draws heartfelt lyrics from each artist, without seeming soft or pandering.

Who would you salute in your life today?
