Golden Rules Might Have The Midas Touch To Break Through (Audio)

Hi. We recently created AFH TV, Ambrosia For Heads’ streaming video service, because we believe real Hip-Hop deserves its own dedicated TV home. But, there are doubters, so, we need your help. If you have enjoyed anything on AFH over the last 7 years, we are asking you to subscribe to AFH TV. It is only $1.99/month or $12/year, and already features some amazing content, but the best is yet to come. Thank you for all of your support.

Paul White and Eric Biddines are ones to watch and ones to listen to. Fresh off of a Yasiin Bey (f/k/a Mos Def) collaboration, the Lex Records artists together known as Golden Rules have another one. “Down South Boogie” is a Funk-fused creation that clearly pulls from Andre 3000 in the dynamic cadence, and the kind of production that is rooted in record-digging, but with crossover capability.

As Gnarls Barkley, Mark Ronson, and other artists are able to take that backyard Down South sound to the mainstream, is this record—complete with Forest Gump allusions, graffiti and break-dance references poised to follow? Lex is, after all, the label responsible for Dangermouse’s proper push…

Pre-order Golden Ticket (August 7).
