Curren$y Keeps It All in the NOLA Family With Lil Wayne & August Alsina (Audio)

New Orleans’ own Spitta Andretti released a surprise E.P. titled Cathedral earlier this month, and the rapper better known as Curren$y has now released another single in the form of “Bottom of the Bottle.” Featuring assistance from fellow NOLA representatives August Alsina and Lil Wayne, the track is produced by Chase N. Cash (who produced the E.P. in its entirety), and is an ode to a curvaceous woman who has snagged the attention of the 3 performers.

The track follows “All Over,” a jazzy tale of the drug hustle, which was released in early August. With “Bottom of the Bottle,” Curren$y steps outside his usual trope of his discography, opting to apply his familiar combination of laid back vocal delivery with sharp storytelling to a more lighthearted concept, but without sacrificing the skills fans have come to expect from him. The track also offers up fans new content from Lil Wayne, who’s remained relatively quiet as he navigates his career now that he and longtime collaborator and business partner Birdman are embroiled in a legal battle over Weezy’s music. Check it out.
