Jay Rock & Kendrick Lamar Heat Up Another Collaboration In Easy Bake (Audio)

Jay Rock’s sophomore studio album, 90059, is allegedly planned to release in the next 10 days. Top Dawg Entertainment’s restless 2015 continues. Unlike so many crews and movements, often times, TDE releases’ most exciting collaborations are in-house. While J.R. and Kendrick Lamar have worked together a number of times, the extension of that work continues to produce great material—while four MCs are continuously asked about the possibility of a Black Hippy LP.

“Easy Bake” is a 90059 inclusion that may not be high-brow, but it is certainly high octane. With booming vocals and lots of flare, Jay chronicles the two-way street of life in Watts. “Fresh out the oven,” the MCs explain why their hot with their verbal hustles. There’s some cool interplay between the host and guest, in a song that sounds like some of Jay’s Warner Bros.-era material in its boisterous presentation.
