Since releasing his studio debut Professional Rapper, Philadelphia MC Lil Dicky has continued to capitalize on the internet fame that first catapulted him into Hip-Hop in 2013, when the video for “Ex-Boyfriend” scored over one-million hits in less than 24 hours. Since then, the ad-man turned comedian turned rapper has continued to inspire Heads with his unique combination of lyrical ability with cleverly executed humor, embodied perfectly in his latest single. “$ave Dat Money” features Fetty Wap and Rich Homie Quan, two of today’s biggest Rap stars, but many would argue that the song’s themes of frugality and fiscal conservatism are distinctly anti-Rap, an irony brought to life perfectly in the track’s accompanying video.

Trending on Facebook and Twitter nearly immediately after its release, the video for “$ave Dat Money” features Lil Dicky attempting to procure the ingredients for an expensive-looking video, only all of it for free. He knocks on a stranger’s mansion door and asks to use the house for 15 minutes. He manages to get his hands on a free sports car, infiltrate the extra-elite world of the Hollywood nightclub, and even crashes a T-Pain video shoot. How did he get away with such audacious requests?
