Scarface’s Mental Exorcism is a Powerful Reminder of the Pain We’ve Endured (Video)

The last few years have been as painful as any in recent memory, in terms of race relations. From the death of Trayvon Martin to wide-scale riots to a nation once again divided by the Confederate Flag, these have been troubling times. Scarface has never been one to shy away from dealing with anguish and the video for his song “Mental Exorcism” is one of his most poignant statements yet.

In an unrelenting barrage of images of lives that have been lost and the painful aftermath, Face shows footage from several events that have permeated our psyches over the last few years. Trayvon, Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Freddie Gray, Ferguson, Charleston, Baltimore and much more are revisited. By the visual’s end, it’s clear that we all are likely in need of a “Mental Exorcism.”

Scarface’s Deeply Rooted album is in stores on September 4.
