Though it kept a lower profile than companies like Def Jam and Bad Boy, in the late 90s and early 00s, there were few, if any record labels, that carried the flag for Hip-Hop more proudly than Rawkus Records. For many, the company introduced Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Eminem, El-P’s Company Flow and more to the world. Rawkus also re-launched the career of the then solo Pharoahe Monch, and released Big L’s final studio album, The Big Picture. But, how much do you really know about Rawkus?
