In What Could Be Straight Outta Compton’s Night, Chris Rock Will Host The Oscars
In a year that may see Straight Outta Compton get Academy Award consideration, the creator and star of CB4 will play a major role in the ceremony. Rock, who spoofed N.W.A. and all of Hip-Hop in his 1993 film, has signed on to host the Oscars (the 88th Academy Awards) for the second time in his extensive career.
The Brooklyn, New York native (and avid N.W.A. fan) confirmed the role via Twitter. In 2005, Rock hosted the 77th Academy Awards. That year, Million Dollar Baby took home “Best Picture” honors.
