Jadakiss’ “Top 5 Dead Or Alive” Has A Release Date. Hear 2 Singles (Audio)

Less than 24 hours after appearing on Sheek Louch’s “Sucka Free,” Jadakiss took a major next step in his career. The 20-plus-year Rap veteran gave his highly anticipated fourth solo album, Top 5 Dead Or Alive a release date. The Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam Records LP will arrive on November 20. That’s less than a month away for ‘Kiss’ first album in six and a half years. His last time out, 2009’s The Last Kiss, was a #3 debut, and considered among that year’s best.

Clearly in its title alone, T.5.D.O.A. (artwork below) is a statement album. Although Jadakiss has released as much music (with The LOX, Wu-Block, and solo) as any point in his career, it’s unclear what—if anything Heads have had heard will reappear on this LP. With the announcement, Jada’ did drop off an official single, “Ain’t Nothin’ New,” featuring Nipsey Hussle and T.L.K. guest Ne-Yo. The single may cater to broader, mainstream tastes, but the sharp lyrics and grim realities of the song stay the course in what has made Jason Phillips able to claim truly historic status untested.
