Lupe Fiasco Made A Food & Liquor Sequel. Now He’s Making The Cool 2.

In 2012, Chicago, Illinois MC Lupe Fiasco released Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album. The 1st & 15th/Atlantic Records release was an overt sequel to Lu’s 2006 debut, both of which garnered critical praise.

Now it seems that the veteran MC is following up another album from his past. On Instagram and Twitter today (October 20), Fiasco revealed that he is working on “C2,” and “Cool 2,” the presumed working titles for his sequel to 2007’s Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool. That album would be Lupe’s first gold-certified LP, which featured Snoop Dogg, Nikki Jean, and a host of his own label talent of the day. The MC cautioned fans that “C2” is gonna be “a while”:

Sneak peek…!!!…#C2 ???? It’s gonna be a whiiiile…but we are working! ????????

In early 2015, Lupe released his fifth studio album, Tetsuo & Youth.  Just as The Cool, the work debuted at #14 on the charts.

Is there such a thing as too many sequels? Will looking at The Cool help Lupe make another lofty album in its vain?
