Ras Kass & Jack Splash Go All In For Semi Hendrix, With Kurupt In The Wings (Audio)
Ras Kass’ career has enjoyed a transformation in the last year. Fresh off of Blasphemy one year ago (alongside Apollo Brown), the Southern California MC teams with decorated songwriter/producer Jack Splash for a group called Semi Hendrix. What mere searchers may not realize however, is how lethal Jack is on the microphone to boot.
“M.A.S.H.” awakens the senses. With Ras’ HRSMN (f/k/a 4 Horsemen) brother Kurupt speaking throughout the song, Jack Splash opens things up with the type of bar battery that would require an Army medic (to play on the film/TV-inspired title). Splash’s flow is air-tight on a dynamic beat that he cooks up. On the third verse, Ras Kass bridges the gap, sealing the deal on a song about Semi’s overlapping qualities, despite their newness.
The Mello Music Group collaborative LP, Breakfast At Banksy’s (October 16), is shaping up to be something special.
