This Brand Nubian “One For All” Tribute Is An Audio All-In-One (Mix)
Last week, Brand Nubian’s celebrated debut album, One For All, reached its 25th birthday. The breakthrough album by Sadat X, Lord Jamar, Grand Puba, and DJ Alamo not only carries the distinction of being a “5 Mic” Source album, but a definitive body of work for New Rochelle, New York, and supporters of the Nation Of Gods and Earths. While Puba’s voice had made its rounds thanks to Masters Of Ceremony, Sadat and Jamar would start careers that are still going strong today.
Two power-players in going back to the elements, Wax Poetics and WhoSampled come together to shine a light on the Elektra Records Hip-Hop classic with grace and style. DJ Chris Read goes in with samples, scratches, and vibes that “feel so good”:
From Edie Brickell to Roy Ayers Ubiquity to James Brown, Brand Nu’ brought at all together so amazingly…
