Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment Signs Anderson .Paak (Video)

As many Heads anticipated, Anderson .Paak and Dr. Dre’s working relationship has only grown closer. The Oxnard, California native MC/singer/producer appeared extensively (six tracks) on Dre’s 2015 album Compton. Less than six months later, he is the latest artist to sign to Aftermath Entertainment, Dr. Dre’s label, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

In a new weekend video, Dre—joined by Anderson, made the announcement:

Paak joins a roster that includes Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Jon Connor, among others. Earlier this month, Anderson independently released Malibu. The Top 100 charting album includes contributions from ScHoolboy Q, Game, Rapsody, Talib Kweli, Madlib, and Hi-Tek. The album was the conceptual follow-up to 2014’s Venice.

Additionally, Anderson .Paak is part of the group NxWorries with Stones Throw Records artist Knxwledge. Previously, he recorded under the name Breezy Lovejoy.
